When Sherri Humes was in high school she was raising money for a bullet-stab proof vest for a  K-9 in Columbus as a school project.  She raised $1,500.00 dollars in a few months and never thought she would have been able to buy another one.  Shortly after she bought the 1st vest, more money was being donated.  So she decided to buy another vest.  During that time Sherri created the H.U.M.E.S. Fund, which stands for Help Us Make Every k-9 Safe.  Ever since this fund was created it has been a huge success.  Since 2004 Sherri has raised over 30,000.00 dollars in donations.  She has provided 19 vests and 6 Hot n Pop Pros to K-9s in Ohio.
